Justin Timberlake will play American host Chuck Barris in Apple TV series

Actor and singer Justin Timberlake will play the American host Chuck Barris in the one-hour TV series.

According to the sources report, the script for this untitled TV series has been acquired by Apple TV Plus and is adapted from Barris’s 1984 memoir “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind”.

In the book, Barris claimed that his public identity as a gong show host and game producer (such as The Dating Game and Newlywed Game) was actually his role as the CIA, a cover of the real work of the assassin.

The book was previously adapted into a 2002 movie, directed by George Clooney and featuring Oscar winner Sam Rockwell as Barris.

Miramax and Paramount Television Studios will co-produce the show. “Ray Donovan” executive producer David Hollander will star alongside the pilot writer Jon Worley.

The show will mark Timberlake’s second project on Apple TV Plus, which he starred in the movie Palmer that was shown on the streaming platform in January this year.
